USA Soccer on the Incline

Soccer in general is thought to be a South American and European sport. Though, with the United States continuous rise they could soon put North America on the map. The USA team had a par World Cup and don't have much to brag on that part of the scale. Since then, they have only lost two games and have put in some clutch performances against solid teams. US are in the Concacaf Gold Cup tournament and are now moving on to the Finals to play either Mexico or Honduras. Also, some people think that the United States team has no good players and the United States should just stick to football and baseball. This could be any further from the truth because players such as Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan are in their prime and thriving. Dempsey, the leading scorer all-time at first division English club Fulham made the EPL all-first team this year to go along with his 12 goals. The USA, ranked 22nd in the world out of over 200 teams is hitting their stride at the right time. They have many young players such as Eric Lichaj, Juan Agudelo, and Alejandro Bedoya that could be in top-competition form for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. This team is possibly the best team the USA has ever had and they have a strong possibility of winning the Gold Cup tournament and advancing to the Confederations Cup tournament in 2013. While some doubters may say the US don't have a chance, I believe that they can become a force to be reckoned with. Disagree? Comment and tell me what you think about the topic.
