The most important offseason in nets history

The date was feburary 21st when the New York Knicks and the Denver nuggets completed a trade that sent superstar Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks, and also ended a process in which the Nets failed once again to acquire a superstar and also showed that another superstar refused to play for the Nets.

However just two days later the nets, who were desperate for a superstar landed arguably the best Point guard in the NBA in Deron Williams. However the team took a major gamble as Williams, who can opt out of his contract at the end of next season could take his talents somewhere else and set back the Nets many years as they enter their new home in Brooklyn.

Williams has made it clear that he wants to contend for a championship, and has said the nets need to "get players" in order for him to stay and contend for an NBA championship in New Jersey and Brooklyn. I

n order to secure Williams future with the Nets, it is up to mangement to get players that can help in building towards a championship in which Williams approves of.

Though many have speculated the nets must trade for Dwight Howard to secure Deron's future with the team, that does not neccarly have to be the case but it does have to be a player that can help turn the Nets into contenders this offseason with an impending lockout the task becomes more difficult however the nets must achieve this task if they want to remain relevent in the NBA.
