Miami HEAT: where they go from here

After a year that began with the words "This fall I am going to take my talents to south beach" and ended in dissapointment with a loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals, some view the first year of the "BIG 3" as a success considering they were two wins from an NBA title when many thought that Miami would lose to the veteran expierienced Boston Celtics or the young and upcoming Chicago Bulls in the NBA Playoffs. However despite their sucess (or failure) this season there were blatant flaws that must be fixed if the Heat truly want to have a chance of winning " not 1, not 2 not 3 not 4 not 5 not 6 not 7 " rings such as....

1. Improve Bench
this year at many times and cleary blatant in the finals was the bench production though key players Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller, and Mario Chalmers had their moments too many times the heat at times had none to absolute minimum production from the bench which costed the Heat many games

2. Lebron and Wade must improve on game
About now we have all heard about Lebron choking in the 4th quarter and suddenly being treated like he is the most useless player in the NBA, when just a few weeks ago he was being compared to his heirness himself. Well its clear LeBron is not Jordan but he could make the discussion if he begins to win multiple championships, in order for that to happen he must improve a bit on his game, most notably add a post game, too many times this season Lebron settled for jump shots and began to struggle when they did not fall, if lebron could operate more on the post and draw double teams backing down to the rim he could add another threat to defenders, get easy points, and find open looks for his teammates. As for Dwyane Wade the improvement needed is in jumpshooting, it is clear that Wade is pure rim attackerhowever if he adds a consistent midrange jumper he could add another threat to defenders and not be as injury prone its clear that wade has the abilty to do so being a great jumpshooter in 2006 but for some reason it has not been as effective.

3. improve the pg and center positons
the Heat need to find consistent players to fill their voids at the pg and center position with having guys like Carlos Arroyo, Mario Chalmers, Mike Bibby, Eddie House, Big Z , Joel Anthony Eric Dampier Jamaal Magloire not being suffecient enough, the heat need in their a point guard who is quick on his feet and defensive minded and can consistently shoot. At center the Heat need a guy who can get rebounds and is in tact with his defense guys that come to mind that the Heat could potentially add to fill those voids are Joel prysbilla Samuel Dalembert and Antoino Daniels.
Though the Heat failed to win an NBA Championship in 2011 they can perhaps fulfill that goal with another brialliant offseason

I like this article Sid, but the Heat really don't have the cap space for ALL of this. Yes, they will improve theirncenter position but I think they will draft a PG in the upcoming draft. I am also speculating the Heat will trade up in the draft to get some good talent at the point. As for LeBron and Wade, this whole thing is an OVERREACTION. Dwayne and LeBron are top 5 basketball players, they do not need to step it up. The only thing that needs to be steeped up is Chris Bosh's manliness...
