Highlights of the Miami Heat's 2011-2012 Schedule

Almost a month has past since the NBA declared it would lockout its players, this summer has been very quiet with any major news coming out, aside from almost every NBA star being linked to be"considering" to play overseas. However last week the NBA released its schedule based for the 2011-2012 season, even though there may not be a season next year. However here is a top ten list of must watch games to see involving the Miami Heat next year.

10. November 18th Heat @ Cavs
By now with LeBron James having already made two appearances to his former arena this storyline has seemed to lost a bit of its luster, interest, and appeal. However this game is intresting because the country gets to see the new generation of the Cavaliers lead by Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson face off against their dreaded past Lebron and the Heat . The cavs will surely want to play hard in this game and try to win to show their fan base, it's time to move on from the past and into a bright future.

9.November 2nd Heat @ Knicks
Although it is quite likely that this game actually never occurs due to the NBA lockout, the Knicks are going to play hard to show the NBA world that they can pose a threat to the defending Eastern Confrence Champions, while the Heat will try to prove that they are ready to move on from a heartbreaking finals loss and take care of the Knicks as the first step to their championship journey. This game features 5 nba all stars, one of the best offensive teams in New York, and one of the best defensive teams in Miami.

8. November 16th Celtics @ Heat
This brings back a rematch of the eastern confrence semi finals in which the Heat won in 5 games. What was clear from last year was that these teams certainly do not like each other, therefore any game these two teams match up win will feature some sort of chippiness, technical fouls, trash talks and other features us fans love. The Heat will come out looking to prove that the door has closed for the guys in green and that the East is theirs to lose, while Boston will look to prove that they still have a shot at one final run and that Miami sleep with one eye open.

7. Janurary 11th Heat @ Clippers.
Last year the game Miami vs Los Angeles was a game that every basketball fan had their eye on that game was Heat vs lakers of course, howver this year, the Heat playing the other L.A team could prove to be a great game. While many people have the rising Clippers in the playoff hunt for this season, this game will feauture three of the top ten most athletic players in Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Blake Griffin. this game will surely have highlight blocks, dunks, other big plays in hopefully leading to a close game down the stretch.

6. November 3rd Magic @ Heat.
Last year these matachups between the Magic and Heat were always interesting due to all what was said between otis smith, Stan van gundy and Dwight Howard. This year every game that Orlando is involved in will probably include a conversation about Dwight Howards future. The magic will try to show in this matchup to not only the Heat but Dwight howard himself that they can compete with the best in NBA, while the Heat will look to prove that they dont stand as contenders to the Heat any longer.

5. November 27th Grizzlies @ Heat.
After a remarkable run in the 2011 NBA playoffs the Memphis Grizzlies back with Rudy Gay in the mix will look to prove and establish themselves as a tough formidable opponent against some of the NBA's best, and use every game to try to gain a top seed in the tough and competitve western confrence. Though this game will not be nationally televised and wont grasp the attention of most fans, the Heat could find themselves in a bear fight(pun intended) against the hungry Grizzlies.

4. December 8th Lakers @ Heat
This was the game last year that most basketball fans wanted to see, the two time defending champions against the star studded Big 3, this year with the lakers getting swept and most of the attention on how Miami lost the nba finals the lakers have seemed to lose a bit of their stardom and attention. However this year with L.A looking to retool and try to win a championship under the new regime of Mike Brown, it shall be interesting of how tey come out differently last year and try to beat Miami. For the heat in 2011/2012 they will try to beat and play hard against every top notch opponent in order to send a message that no team can come from them and their championship goals. If not for that any game that involves the names Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James on the same court will be fun.

3. December 23rd Thunder @ Heat.
With Dallas being a year older, L.A and San Antonio's championship window either closed or closing, many have picked the young and upstart Thunder to come out of the West and start their potential championship dynasty. While in the east, many believe that due to the finals loss in 2011 that this has to be the year with a year under their belt the Heat get the job done and become champions of the NBA, with a potential finals preview it should be interesting, how both teams fare off to one another and who comes out with the W.

2.Janurary 19th Bulls @ Heat.
In a rematch of the 2011 eastern confrence finals, it would seem that Derrick Rose and the bulls come out punching in this game to avenge the eastern confrence finals defeat. What really is going to be interesting is what changes both teams made in the roster. If the bulls do add a veterean shooting guard who has the ability to create his own shot than it will give Chicago a chance to put pressure on Miami's defence down the stretch for more players that can make a play rather than just Rose. In Miami's case if they add a defensive, rebounding, mentality center who can control the glass than it can limit chicago off the offensive rebounds and a less oppurtunity for the bulls to score. These two teams are presumed to have control of the Eastern confrence for years to come so any matchup of these teams is presumed to be a good game.

1. December 25th Heat @ Mavericks.
For the last 5 years this matchup had to bring some form of rembembrance to the Heat organization and their fans as this was the team that Miami had beat in 2006 to win their first title in franchise history. Now the tables have turned towards Dallas as they themselves won their first title in franchise history against the Heat. In terms of regular season games this will probably be the game for the Heat in which means the most, ever since the loss in 2011 the current reputation of the entire Miami Heat team has changed drastically, and will not change until the heat hold the Larry O'brien trophy in their hands just like 2006. Expect a great show in this game and a thrill right till the final buzzer, both teams will want to win this game to send a message to the basketball world.

As of right now none of us are entirely sure that any of these games will occur at all. This labor sitchuation has brought a lot of uncertainty about the current future of the NBA. One thing however is for sure when a deal is reached and the Heat do begin playing games, in a win loss or draw will bring drama of some sorts, overreactions, haste statments from a myriad of people, and scrutiny of all sorts. Thats when in the case of the Miami Heat the show and a potential championship journey truly begins.

How Playing Overseas Effects the NBA Lockout

From the summer of LeBron last year to the summer of silence this year. news around the league has been extremely quiet due to the Work Stoppage until today, when two time all star point guard Deron Williams signed with a turkish pro team that he will play for until the NBA lockout is over before returning to play for the New Jersey Nets.
The decision seems to benefit Williams as he will be able to continue to make money, play professional basketball, stay in Shape, and make a living for the time being and then come back to the NBA. However the disadvantage is for the Nets and their ownership. As the lockout prolongs Nets management does not want to see their franchise player playing in a shaky european leauge where there is a chance for injuries or other incedients that can happen without team supervision.
This is why this situation can drastically effect the chances of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement being reached faster because if other talented stars such as Williams decide to play overseas until the lockout ends, owners will have more of a reason to lower their demands and try to make a deal so that they can have control over their most valuable assets.
Already, players such as Kobe Bryant, Amare Stoudamire, Carmelo Anthony, rudy fernandez, and others have been linked to showing interest in playing overseas, if some of them do join then potentially all NBA fans can actually be closer to see the game that they love.
