The Fall of Villanova

Last night Villanova lost to USF in the first round of the Big East Tournament. USF is the worst team in the BIg East. 'Nova finished the regular season at 21-10 and 9-9 in the Big East, losing 6 of the last 8 Big East games. Then after losing their postseason opener, they fell onto the bubble of the NCAA tournament. They are now unranked, and have fallen to a projected 11 seed in the tournament by ESPN.com's Joe Lunardi. In the preseason polls, Villanova was ranked number six. Corey Fisher has finished the season terribly, and Corey Stokes has missed four games. Not to mention, Mouphtaou Yarou was recently injured. Villanova already lacks an inside presence, and now there center is injured.

Jay Wright has not found a lineup that has worked for him yet. Switching soon-to-be-star Maalik Wayns in and out of the starting lineup sure has not worked. Also, as of late, the bench play has been terrible. Yesterday in the USF game, Dominic Cheek let Anthony Crater drive right past him for the Go-ahead layup, and Maurice Sutton fouled out. Sutton is a big man coming off the bench, and once again the Wildcats lack big men. In crunch time, not having an inside presence really hurt them. For all you college basketball fanatics, do not pick Villanova to go far in your brackets.

Sir Anonymous, with all due respect, that is one of the most ridiculous comments I have ever heard. I understand that you want to be a contributor but to rip apart someone else's writing like that for such a marginal error is frankly absurd. This was a good post and you acted like it was trash because of one error that doesn't even matter.

And plus, binder has told you why you can't be a contributor. BECAUSE YOU WON'T REVEAL YOURSELF!! so stop pretending like you don't understand.

And finally, you don't know jack about sports. "Revis isn't good he only had 6 interceptions" possibly the dumbest sports related comment i have ever heard.

Please don't make this clown a contributor.

first of i am not ripping apart someone's writing. he made a mistake so i am correcting it. second of all dont make conclusions, i never said the posts was trash. third of all, why arent you the clown? for ripping me for a harmless comment? and revis did not have a great season this year 0 int 32 tackles that doesnt even go top 10 in any of those stats if you check NFL.com for a DB. that is rediculous if you call that a productive season. and please tell me why my commebt was " possibly the dumbest sports related comment" youve ever heard

"Drew you don't know anything"
doesn't sound like constructive criticism to me.

Revis impacts the game in ways that stats don't measure. He shuts down the #1 receiver on the opposing team, totally eliminating one half of the field. This makes it twice as easy for Rex Ryan to create defenses. He helps his defense as much as any player in the NFL, which is why it's clear that you've never watched a Jets game.

In 2009, Revis was unbelievable. 6 picks, countless pass breakups, shut down every #1 he faced. Impacted the game in a way that only a few have in the past 20 years.

You are saying possibly the most valuable defensive player in the nfl isn't even productive. This makes it clear that you don't watch the Jets and certainly cannot accuse someone like Drew of "not knowing anything"
