What team do you think will make a playoff run (one that someone might not think of)?

Last year, it was the Padres and the Reds. Although the Padres didnt make the playoffs, no one expected them to shine as much as they did. Their pitching, let by Mat Latos, was superb and I think they just got lucky, but one may disagree. Who is this years' team?

I have to go with the Angels. Their pitching is unbeleivable, I think 2nd best in the majors, under that team named the Phillies (ever heard of them??). Anyway, there are so many strong and durable arms on that team. Their are Weaver, Haren, and Santana, they all are All Stars, with the exception of Santana, who had a decent 2010, yet is struggling early this season. Their hitting is okay, too. Vernon Wells, Howie Kenrick, and Torii Hunter are all quality players. I am projecting them to make the wild card and win their first playoff series. I have some serious faith in the Angels this season.

Haren and Santana both has 5+ ERAs last year, Eric.
My sleeper is the Oakland Athletics. Now THAT is a pitching staff.

I agree, I agree. But Ryan: Weaver and Haren both had tough seasons last year, but they are great pitchers and will, and have rebounded from last year. They are a combined 6-0 and Weaver has an 0.87 (or something close to that) and Haren has a 0.73. I know its early in the season, but for four games each, thats not half bad, in fact. its great. I do agree with e A's though. Their whole staff is sleepers which is pretty cool but their batting does suck so I think they will come close to making the playoffs but will fall short. Their division is pretty tough.
