For the second time this week, the NFL and NFLPA have met to discuss the current labor situation. As we all know, the current CBA has expired and it has been a long, dragged out process trying to reach an agreement.
The owners want more money, and the players were upset by this. The case has even been brought to court, but no agreement has occurred.
The NFL is currently in a lockout, which means no free agency, organized team activities (OTA's), or rookie contract signings. This has hurt many teams, such as the Eagles, who would've had a chance to trade Kevin Kolb to acquire draft picks this offseason.
The NFL and NFLPA are working towards trying to prevent a possible shortened season, which would result in a loss of an immense amount of money.
However, both sides are nearing an agreement. This is such recent news, the details are not known yet.
New York Jets Beat Writer and writer for the New York Daily News, Manish Mehta, reported the labor deal is 80-85% finished.
Although the deal is almost in place, it would take until early July to lay out all the details, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Even though the deal is speculated to be weeks away, this news is great for all NFL fans, teams, players, and owners.
